Breeze Airways latest airline to bring flights to airport serving region, Pawleys Island
A new airline is now offering direct flights to the Pawleys Island area, so even more people can enjoy the beauty and history of America’s oldest seaside resort.
The Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), which would be the closest major airport to Pawleys Island, has announced the exciting arrival of Breeze Airways, the newest airline to join the airport’s fast-growing list of carriers.
Breeze known for its commitment to making travel simple, affordable, and enjoyable, will offer flight options for travelers coming to Georgetown County’s Hammock Coast and other local coastal areas. Beginning in February 2024, the airline has launched twice weekly flights to and from Providence, Rhode Island. Starting May 2, Breeze will offer Thursday and Sunday flights between Hartford, Connecticut, and MYR. Additional twice-weekly flights to and from Tampa, Florida, and Charleston, West Virginia, will begin on May 10.
Mark Stevens, director of tourism development for the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce, said Breeze Airways is a welcome addition for the Pawleys Island area.
“We are so excited that Breeze Airways is coming to the Myrtle Beach International Airport,” he said. “That means that even more people from other states can experience the beauty, history, and laid-back atmosphere of Pawleys Island.”
Judi Olmstead, director of airports at Myrtle Beach International Airport, said she is elated that Breeze Airways is set to take off from MYR, bringing new and exciting nonstop flights to high-demand markets.
“Our team listens to customer feedback and consistently strives to acquire new air service offerings and these destinations are some of the most requested by our valued travelers,” she said. “We look forward to partnering with Breeze and extend our sincere gratitude for their investment in our community.”
The Myrtle Beach International Airport is a gateway to the Hammock Coast. In addition to Breeze, MYR is served by Allegiant, American, Avelo, Delta, Frontier, Porter, Southwest, Spirit, Sun Country and United. Learn more at: www.flymyrtlebeach.com.
