5 reasons why bisQit is a favorite restaurant in Pawleys Island
One of the most popular restaurants in the Pawleys Island area is bisQit, a small, family-friendly restaurant tucked away in the middle of the Hammock Shops Village.
While meandering through the oak-lined paths, passing a variety of shops that sell clothing, shoes, candy, hammocks (of course), and a whole lot more, visitors come upon bisQit, a sister restaurant to Quigley’s Pint and Plate that’s located in the Litchfield community of Pawleys Island. Both are run by Josh Quigley, owner, and his partner, Billy Davis.

“bisQit is a restaurant that offers a fun and casual environment with a moderate price point,” Quigley said. “We welcome everyone to come and join us for casual, homestyle meal.”
During lunch and dinner hours, this little restaurant is usually packed with people enjoying creative cuisine and specialty drinks. Lively conversation and laughter can be heard by passersby.
So, what makes bisQit so special? We have whittled it down to five reasons: location, atmosphere, cuisine/drinks, service, and community partnerships.
Location
Centrally located in the Hammock Shops Village, bisQit is just minutes from the North Causeway to Pawleys Island. It’s perfect for those who want to grab a bite to eat as they enjoy a day of shopping and relaxing in shady spots with beautiful scenery.

Atmosphere
Quigley describes the atmosphere of bisQit as “casual and quirky.” With two dining areas, both with rustic wooden tables and chairs, diners enjoy a homestyle meal in cozy surroundings.
Cuisine and drinks
The restaurant specializes in handcrafted burgers. You can have them on either a bun or a biscuit, and we always get them on a biscuit. C’mon, you’re at a place with the creatively spelled name of bisQit, so you gotta go all in and make it a biscuit!
Select bisQit sandwiches are named for communities in the area, known as South Carolina’s Hammock Coast. Here’s a look at some of those sandwiches — and the communities/places:
- Lowcountry – root beer-braised pork belly, smoked gouda, Lowcountry slaw, Bearnaise aioli.
- Hagley – fried chicken, bacon, iceberg lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing.
- Waverly – fried chicken, pickle chips, honey mustard.
- Waccamaw – fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, bisQit gravy.
- Litchfield – fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, apple butter.
Beyond the signature bisQit sandwiches and burgers, the restaurant offers creative cocktails and creamy milkshakes. And, best of all, you can have an adult milkshake made to your specifications. Yes, if you want your milkshake spiked, just let your server know. A favorite or ours is a raspberry milkshake with Chambord added. It’s heaven with a straw. Trust us.

Service
The friendly waitstaff at bisQit strive to make customers feel at home. Their experience and training allow them to provide answers any questions diners may ask.
“We love taking care of so many visitors through the busy summer season, and we appreciate that they have made us part of their annual vacations,” Quigley said. “We also look forward to seeing all of the locals come out as the core of our year-round business.”
Community partnerships
Both bisQit and Quigley’s Pint and Plate and embrace the greater Pawleys Island community. They offer an annual scholarship at Waccamaw High School and provide a weekly community meal program for those in need.
Meals can be picked up on Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m. at Quigley’s Next Door (right next to Quigley’s at 257 Willbrook Blvd. in the Litchfield community of Pawleys Island.) Donations are accepted and anyone is welcome to participate.
“We started this weekly community meal during the Covid shutdowns in 2020 to support people that found themselves without income,” Quigley said. “And we have continued to provide a home-cooked family-style meal to those in the community who continue to need assistance.”
bisQit is located at 10880 Ocean Hwy # 22, Pawleys Island, in the Hammock Shop Village. Hours are Monday – Friday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. For more information about bisQit or reservations, call 843-979-2747, or click here.
